Comcast to offer video conferencing from your TV with a new adapter from Techicolor.

Technicolor? The Color and Imaging people for movies are they still around? Apparently so and now they have been chosen to bring the next generation of communication into the living room via video conferencing with the new adapter that Comcast appears will offer to consumers as a plug a play device. Oh did I mention the fact that it’s HD video conferencing that Comcast will be offering. On the surface it sounds pricey. One all so has  to wonder about how Comcast plans to deal with heavy users, as they hit the ceiling on their data caps. Then again they might decide to do as Verizon and AT&T are doing and throttling speeds for heavy users. When you think about it this will provide Comcast another revenue stream from the ISP side of it's business. So if ad revenue fall off on the broadcast side, it will have this little service to help boost profits.

Reuters has the story.

Surfs up!.........................Eric
